We Are Family at Little Sun People

A family tie is like a tree, it can bend but it cannot break ~ African proverb.

We Are Family
As we all prepare to gather with our given and chosen families during the winter holidays, we want to make sure that you know we count you all as part of LSP’s family! The ties that bind us are our beliefs that every child is a treasure who brings something special to the world and our children should experience pride and joy in knowing their African heritage. This winter holiday season, we encourage you to ask the Little Sun People student(s) in your life about what they’ve learned about their African heritage and you too will experience the joy & inspiration that  overflows everyday at Little Sun People.

Dad's Cooking for Umoja Karamu
Umoja Karamu means "unity feast" in Swahili, is a time-honored tradition that emphasizes unity, self-determination, and reflection.

The event was a resounding success, with dads, father figures, and families gathering for an evening filled with delicious food and lots of laughs. It provided a fantastic opportunity for bonding and shining a spotlight on our babas. The turnout was impressive and dinner was charged with joy and community spirit. Together we celebrated, learned, and nourished our spirits, making it a memorable and heartwarming gathering.

Giving Tuesday . . . The Giving Continues
Thank you to the 35 donors that helped us reach 15% of our goal! Can we count on you to join those 35 donors in making a special gift to Little Sun People this holiday season? No donation is too small. Already donated? Determine if your employer matches donations to nonprofits and seek the match!
