It is our belief that every child is a treasure who brings something special to the world. We believe that every child comes to us with inborn intelligence and it is our job at Little Sun People to honor, nourish, and inform, that intelligence.  We offer a robust curriculum, along with fun and challenging extra-curricular activities.  We provide a safe, hygienic, child-centered environment with lots of love and care for the continued blossoming of each Little Sun Person.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to inform and educate young children by incorporating the story and cultures of all people of color with a particular emphasis on people of African descent, into a robust and comprehensive curriculum designed for the pre-school learner.

Our Vision is to serve an extensive diverse population of children in a spacious state of the art facility that is a nationally recognized early education institution highly regarded for academic excellence while fostering a sense of social competency, personal pride, self-esteem, and strong positive identity in our students for individually and for the communities in which they live.

Our Parents are our Partners

We at Little Sun People recognize that we are in an important partnership with our parents. We strive to always work together with our parents in order to offer the children all nurturance that is possible in order to help them to reach their highest potential. Parents as Partners is a critical component of the Little Sun People experience and is an integral part of our program. There is an open door policy at all times for parents at Little Sun People and parents are encouraged to volunteer inside and outside the classroom.

Each family’s full participation in all center-wide fundraisers and special events is a requirement for each child attending. Those families that register and do not participate in center fundraisers and special events will be requested to relinquish their child’s seat unless a new agreement of participation is agreed upon by both the family and the center. Parents are also required to attend Parent orientation held at the beginning of the each academic school year. Additionally, parents are expected to attend a monthly PAC meeting to remain in good standing.
