In our classroom, we have been having so much fun and learning so much, we have really loved the hands on explorations that we did at the beginning of our semester. When we traveled to the garden, we would have such a rich experience digging in the soil, discovering worms and insects, watering our plants, planting bulbs and harvesting delicious collard greens, that we cooked and ate, they were so delicious. We loved bringing our outdoor experience into the inside of our classroom. We even learned about the parts of the plant and loved watching the leaves change as it became autumn.

Another rich experience that we enjoyed in our classroom this semester was all of the animal exploration we got to do, we had a petting zoo visit our school, cared for eggs until they hatched into actual chicks. We loved taking care of our chicks. We created beautiful chicks with cotton that we painted yellow. And we visited Green Meadows Farm where we picked pumpkins and we also went apple picking. As much as we love learning, reading, writing and drawing in our classroom, we love it the most when we get out to experience these places with our 5 senses, it has just been the best.
