It is our belief that every child is a treasure who brings something special to the world. We believe that every child comes to us with immense natural intelligence and it is our job at Little Sun People to honor that intelligence. We offer a robust curriculum, fun and challenging extra-curricular activities. We strive to provide a safe, clean, child-centered environment with lots of love and care for the continued blossoming of that innate intelligence.

Our Mission & Vision

From humble beginnings to a established and well known local community preschool; our mission is to educate children in their most formative years about the history and culture of all people of color with a particular emphasis on people of African ancestry, by instituting a robust curriculum designed for the pre-school learner.

Our Vision is to service a extensive population of children in a spacious state of the art facility that is a nationally recognized early education institution highly regarded for its academic excellence and fosters a sense of personal pride, self-esteem and positive identity in our students and the communities in which they live.

Our Parents

We at Little Sun People recognize that we are in an important partnership with our parents. We strive to always work together with our parents in order to offer the children all nurturance that is possible in order to help them to reach their highest potential. Parents as Partners is a critical component of the Little Sun People experience and is an integral part of our program. Parents are welcome at the center at all times and are encouraged to volunteer inside and outside the classroom.

Each family’s full participation in all center-wide fundraisers and special events is a requirement for each child attending. Those families that register and do not participate in center fundraisers and special events will be requested to relinquish their child’s seat unless a new agreement of participation is agreed upon by both the family and the center. Parents are also required to attend Parent orientation held at the beginning of the each academic school year.
